Available for both rod and piston sealing applications; the T-Seal is designed to retrofit o-rings in no back-up, single back-up and two back-up, standard industrial reciprocating glands. The T-seal’s compact design provides improved stability and extrusion resistance in dynamic sealing applications.

The base of the T-Seal forms a tight seal in the gland and supports the back-up rings. When the seal is energised the back-up rings bridges the anti-extrusion gap to cover the rod sealing element from extrusion and system contamination. This eliminates the “spiral” or “twisting” seal failures that can occur when o-rings are used against a dynamic surface.

Our T-Seals with back-up rings are available in the following base compounds to cover a wide range of fluid compatibility, pressure and temperature application requirements;


Seal Element:
• Nitrile (NBR)
• Fluorocarbon (FKM)
• Hydrogenated Nitrile (HNBR)
• Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (EPDM)
• Carboxylated Nitrile (XNBR)


Back-Up Rings:
• PTFE (Including Virgin and filled varieties)


T-seal and Back-up Rings are also available in a range of alternate elastomer and thermoplastic compounds for special application requirements.
